No one is quite sure where this Bourre'
term originated, but the game has been played in Louisiana as long as anyone can remember.   No documents are known to exist that reveal any more insight than put forward in this book. Several different spellings have been located and these are included for clarification.

No other card game in existence requires as much special attention as Booray, nor is any game easier to learn.  Booray never loses its fascination, whether a person is participating or watching.
