-The Blesbuck is an open plains animal, one can expect to shoot at
distances of beyond 200 yards. If hunting in certain Kalahari areas,
bushy terrain can be encountered where shots can be taken in the
100-yard region. A rifle with a flat trajectory like 270, 30-06, 7mm Mag
or 300 is advised.
Difficult to point out the correct animal as they tend to mill around in
the herd and both males and females have horns. This can be a
challenging hunt as there can be long distance shots.
In mountainous areas they can be stalked and shorter range shots can be
taken. Out in the open plains where they can see you coming, they are a
worthy adversary as they tend to know how to keep out of range.
